The Divine Darlings Burlesque Showcase

The Divine Darling Burlesque Showcase is an 11-week burlesque course, designed specifically for anyone who wants a full immersion into the art of burlesque performance. Each weekly class will focus on a different aspect of the creative process, from choreography to costumes to stage presences, and so much more. The course will culminate in a showcase where each participant will perform a group dance, as well as a solo performance.

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Choreograph a solo burlesque routine

  • Describe elements of an effective costume

  • Demonstrate basic burlesque techniques including shimmies, bump and grind, glove peels, and boa play

  • Create a stage name, tag line, and persona

  • Explain how to submit a routine to a producer

  • Recognize the purpose and function of kittening

Timeline & Expectations

  • All tuition must be paid in full by Sunday, November 5

  • Classes will begin November 5 and will meet weekly on Sundays, with the exception of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years weeks. Makeup dates for those weeks will be announced before the Course start date. 

  • While we expect everyone to attend the weekly classes, we understand that life happens. If a Course participant needs to miss a rehearsal, they must reach out to Lady AnnaBelle to schedule a private make-up lesson for the missed material.

  • Additional rehearsals may be added closer to the showcase dates to ensure every participant is polished and stage-ready. Showcase dates will be confirmed and announced at a later date.
